Our approach
1 OAK TRAVEL wants people with disabilities to be able to read our guides, compare options and contact us. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, including Level AA criteria, as guidance for ongoing improvements. This statement describes our approach and implemented features; it is not an independent accessibility certification or a claim of complete conformance.
Features on this website
- Skip links, descriptive headings and labeled navigation.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, including Freddie’s owner-supplied portrait.
- Visible keyboard focus, keyboard-operated menus and native expandable questions.
- Responsive layouts, browser text zoom support and reduced-motion handling.
- Text labels for filters, status announcements for results and multiple contact methods.
- Table headings and a card-view alternative for cruise results.
Use Tab to move between controls, Enter or Space to activate the focused control, and Escape to close an open dialog or expanded header menu. Your browser’s zoom controls can enlarge text. Some comparison tables scroll horizontally on smaller screens.
Tell us about a website barrier
If a page or feature is difficult to use, call (510) 303-9883, text Freddie or email 1oaktravela@gmail.com. Include the page address, what you were trying to do and your preferred way to receive help. If useful, tell us the browser or assistive technology involved. We can help provide the travel information through another contact method and investigate the barrier.
No response-time guarantee is stated here. We have checked core interactions and responsive layouts, but a comprehensive independent assistive-technology and legal compliance audit has not been completed.
Accessible travel requests
Tell Freddie about the travel arrangements or communication support you need before choosing a sailing. Topics may include an accessible cabin, step-free routes, embarkation assistance, airport assistance, excursion access, mobility-device dimensions or accessible transport.
Describe the accommodation you need; you do not need to disclose a diagnosis in an initial inquiry. Availability, ship layouts, ports, tender operations and supplier arrangements differ. An accessible cabin does not automatically establish that every excursion or port route is accessible. Ask for the relevant supplier’s confirmation and deadlines before booking.
External websites and continued improvements
The cruise quiz, Amazon, cruise lines and other external services maintain their own interfaces and accessibility practices. The quiz opens in its own tab so it can use the available screen space. Freddie can assist with travel planning through call, text or email. Our controls do not change those pages. We will continue to review our own site as content and features change. The U.S. Department of Justice’s web accessibility guidance provides general background on accessibility responsibilities.
